Nurse Betsy used the D-word today for the first time. If all continues to go well, James will be going home soon, perhaps as early as the end of next week! Eating on his own is the only hurdle, and nursing is going well. He does need to learn to eat from a bottle, as he will need 2 bottles of special formula per day once he goes home. Over the next week he will have a hearing test, developmental screen, vaccinations, bloodwork, carseat challenge, etc. to make sure he's ready to be discharged. Exciting news!
Today he nursed 40 cc in one sitting; the feeds are up to 50 cc.
